The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G is Samsung’s 2026 mid-range flagship, announced in March 2026 and released in April. It sits at the top of the Galaxy A series and represents Samsung’s most complete mid-range package: an IP68-rated all-glass-and-aluminium build at 6.9mm thin and 179g, a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display peaking at 1900 nits, a triple rear camera with OIS, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 6.0, eSIM, NFC and six years of OS update commitment — specs that in previous years were exclusive to Samsung’s Galaxy S line. The 12GB/512GB Navy variant is the top storage configuration, designed for users who want no compromises in capacity.
The Samsung Exynos 1680 (4nm, octa-core: 1×2.9GHz Cortex-A720 + 4×2.6GHz Cortex-A720 + 3×1.95GHz Cortex-A520, Xclipse 550 GPU) is Samsung’s 2026 mid-range chip, a step up from the Exynos 1580 in the Galaxy A56 with improved CPU cores and graphics. The Xclipse 550 GPU is based on AMD RDNA architecture, the same lineage as Samsung’s flagship Xclipse GPU series, bringing improved gaming frame rates and graphical consistency compared to the Mali GPU competitors at this tier. AnTuTu scores above 1,000,000 in v10 testing place it comfortably in the upper mid-range bracket. The 12GB LPDDR5X RAM paired with 512GB UFS 3.1 storage in this variant is the maximum configuration available — fast storage access, ample headroom for multitasking, app caching and large media libraries, with no microSD expansion slot (Samsung omits this to maintain the slim IP68 sealed design).
The 6.7-inch Super AMOLED+ display runs at FHD+ 1080×2340 resolution, 385 PPI, with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support and a peak brightness of 1900 nits — one of the brightest panels in the mid-range category and visibly superior in direct sunlight readability compared to the 1200-nit HBM figures of most competing AMOLED phones. The panel is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+ on both front and back. The aluminium frame and glass sandwich build gives the A57 a premium feel that is unusual at mid-range; at 6.9mm thickness and 179g it is noticeably slimmer and lighter than the Galaxy A56 (7.4mm / 198g) it replaces.
The 50MP f/1.8 main camera (1/1.56", 1.0µm, PDAF, OIS) is the core sensor — OIS (Optical Image Stabilisation) on the main camera is a mid-range differentiator, compensating for hand shake during longer exposures, video recording and low-light shots to produce sharper results than stabilisation-free cameras under the same conditions. The 12MP f/2.2 ultrawide (13mm, 1/3.06", 123° field of view) handles group shots, architecture and landscape photography. The 5MP f/2.4 macro enables close-up detail shots from approximately 3–5cm. The 12MP f/2.2 front camera (1/3.2") shoots selfies and video calls at up to 4K 30fps with 10-bit HDR. Rear video also records at 4K@30fps with gyro-EIS stabilisation.
IP68 (1.5m, 30 minutes) is full submersion protection — a specification step above the IP67 found in the previous Galaxy A56, offering greater depth tolerance. 5G with Sub-6GHz bands including n77 and n78 ensures broad 5G network compatibility. Wi-Fi 6E adds 6GHz band support for higher throughput and lower congestion in supported networks. Bluetooth 6.0 is the latest generation. NFC for contactless payment. eSIM support (Nano-SIM + eSIM or Nano-SIM + Nano-SIM + up to 2 eSIMs). Under-display optical fingerprint sensor. Stereo speakers. No 3.5mm jack. USB Type-C 2.0. 5000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging (PD3.2). GPS + GLONASS + Galileo + BDS + QZSS. Android 16 with One UI 8.5, with Samsung’s commitment to 6 major OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches — the full Galaxy A flagship update policy. Dimensions 161.5×76.8×6.9mm. Weight 179g. Available in Navy, Gray, Icyblue and Lilac.
