The Razer BlackShark V2 X is a multi-platform wired esports headset in Black, built around Razer’s TriForce 50mm driver technology and HyperClear Cardioid microphone in a lightweight 240g closed-back over-ear aviation-style chassis with breathable memory foam earcups — the standard format used at esports tournaments where headset weight, passive noise isolation and microphone directional rejection are the three critical specifications. At 240g it is positioned as the lightest entry point in the Razer BlackShark family, sacrificing detachable mic and braided cable relative to the V2 Pro while retaining the same TriForce driver architecture.

The Razer TriForce driver is Razer’s patented tri-zone driver design: rather than a single undivided 50mm diaphragm covering the full frequency range in one zone, the TriForce design divides the single 50mm driver into three physically distinct tuned zones — high, mid and low — each optimized independently for its frequency range. The high zone is tuned for treble detail and spatial cue accuracy, which is the frequency range that contains the directional audio cues that competitive players use for footstep location and shot direction identification. The mid zone handles vocal reproduction — both in-game voice communication and the midrange content of game audio. The low zone handles bass reproduction. The overall frequency response of 12 Hz to 28 kHz covers the full range of human hearing (20 Hz–20 kHz) with significant headroom above and below, at 32Ω impedance (compatible with all 3.5mm analog sources including consoles, smartphones and portable gaming devices without requiring a separate headphone amplifier) and 100 dB SPL/mW sensitivity. The inner earcup diameter of 63×43mm (oval) accommodates most ear sizes within the leatherette memory foam cushion without contact between the outer ear and the driver housing — the over-ear seal that provides the passive noise cancellation from external sound sources.

The Razer HyperClear Cardioid microphone is a fixed bendable boom mic — the arm positions to the user’s preferred distance from the mouth and holds that position. The unidirectional cardioid pickup pattern captures audio primarily from the front (the user’s mouth) and progressively rejects audio from the sides and rear — this is the pattern that discriminates the user’s voice from background keyboard noise, ambient room sound and other players at LAN events. Frequency response of 100 Hz–10 kHz captures the full range of human speech (fundamental frequencies: 85–255 Hz for male, 165–255 Hz for female; speech harmonics and consonant information extending to 8 kHz) with sensitivity of −42 dB V/Pa at 1 kHz and SNR of ≥60 dB. Click-to-mute button on the left earcup. Volume knob on the left earcup for analog level adjustment.

The 3.5mm analog connection works across PC, Mac, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and any mobile device with a 3.5mm port. The included audio/mic splitter extension cable splits the combined CTIA 3.5mm 4-pole jack into separate 3.5mm audio and microphone inputs for PC motherboards or sound cards with separate audio and microphone ports. 7.1 virtual surround sound is available on Windows 10/11 64-bit via Razer’s 7.1 Surround Sound software, activated via a code received after product registration — this is a software surround processing layer that creates the spatial impression of multiple speakers from the physical stereo drivers and is available on PC only; on console and mobile the headset functions in stereo. Cable length 1.3m. Non-detachable straight cable. 240g. 2-year warranty.
