The Dyson Airsmooth™ in Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold is Dyson’s first dedicated blow-dry styling brush — a hot air brush that combines drying, stretching, smoothing and shaping into a single tool and a single step, eliminating the need to alternate between a hair dryer and a round brush to achieve a salon-quality blowout at home. The Airsmooth delivers faster drying with less breakage than the top-selling hot air brush, reduced frizz compared to air drying, and a snag-free brushing experience confirmed by a consumer test of 104 participants who compared it against their own existing hot air brush in June and July 2026 — making it the most thoroughly tested new product in Dyson’s beauty range at launch. The Ceramic Pink and Rose Gold colourway is the Dyson Airsmooth’s signature finish — the warm metallic rose gold accents against the soft ceramic pink body reflecting Dyson’s approach to engineering-forward aesthetics in premium hair care tools that sit on a bathroom shelf or dressing table as a design object as much as a functional appliance.

The fundamental engineering problem the Airsmooth solves is the tension-versus-airflow conflict that conventional blow-dry brushes fail to resolve — most hot air brushes generate enough airflow to dry hair efficiently but too much turbulent airflow disruption to create smooth, frizz-free results, because the airflow exits through a single vent and disturbs the sections of hair that are not currently being worked. The Dyson Airsmooth addresses this through its dual bristle system: PivotFlex™ bristles positioned on the curved edges of the teardrop brush head flex up to 90 degrees as they contact the hair, diffusing airflow through their bases rather than releasing it in a single concentrated stream — wrapping hair smoothly around the curved edge and releasing it without tangles, while the distributed airflow through the bristle base creates the tension needed to shape the hair into waves, flicks and bends without mechanical resistance. The Anti-snag loop bristles on the flat edges of the brush are engineered with looped tips that compress inward when tension is applied and spring back when released, holding each section at the optimal stretch for smoothing while gliding through even fine, fragile or chemically treated hair without the snagging, breakage and friction that conventional ball-tip bristles cause — producing the controlled stretching action that gives the blowout its length retention and smoothness without the mechanical damage that accumulates over repeated styling sessions with standard brushes. Together the two bristle types work in sequence as the brush passes through the hair: the PivotFlex bristles on the curved edges wrap and shape, while the Anti-snag bristles on the flat edges stretch and smooth, simultaneously addressing the styling geometry and the hair health outcome in a single pass.

The teardrop brush head shape — narrower at the tip than at the base — is the physical design that allows the Airsmooth to reach the scalp and the roots of the hair, the starting point of every successful blowout. Conventional cylindrical brush heads create a gap between the barrel and the scalp that forces the stylist to work in the mid-lengths without ever achieving the root lift and root direction control that gives a salon blowout its volume and longevity. The teardrop’s tapered tip fits into the root zone, allowing the stylist to place the brush at the scalp level and sweep downward from root to tip in a single motion — drying the full length of each section in one pass while directing the root in the desired angle for volume or sleekness. The motor in the handle rather than the brush head keeps the centre of gravity lower and closer to the hand, reducing wrist fatigue during the extended back-section and crown-section work that a full blowout involves. The intelligent heat control system uses glass-bead thermistors measuring airflow temperature at the air exit point 20 times per second — identical in principle to the Dyson Airstrait’s temperature regulation — continuously adjusting the heating element output to maintain the selected temperature regardless of airflow rate changes caused by varying brushing speed, preventing the temperature spikes that cause heat damage when the stylist pauses or slows a conventional hot brush. The four heat settings — High 113°C for coarse, thick or highly resistant hair; Medium 100°C for everyday drying and styling; Low 85°C for fine, colour-treated or heat-sensitive hair; and Cool for setting the finished style — combined with three airflow speed settings give the user precise control over the thermal and mechanical energy being applied to their hair type for every session. Universal voltage at 100–240V means the Airsmooth operates on any electrical system worldwide without a converter — the voltage adapts automatically to the local supply. Bristle protector included for travel and storage. 2-year warranty.
